The Queen's Cowboys invite you to experience their re-enactment of this famous group of hardy individuals that made up the North West Mounted Police. The North West Mounted Police trek west was a profound statement on how those brave men could found a force to be reckoned with amid the worst kind of hardships and still foster a pride in a newly settled region of Canada. Text books, tapes or films cannot match the vividly painted picture of living the real experience. Actually feeling the resounding "BOOM" of our 9 pound cannon under your feet and in your ears cannot be substituted by hearing it on television or by reading it in a book. The Queen's Cowboys attempt to portray the new recruit's life as close to the real thing as possible. Whether it be in the camp, on the training field or re-enacting a true Canadian heritage experience.

People crave stability and a freedom to live without fear, and the North West Mounted Police made these longings come true. They were a group of men chosen by the people, out of the people, for the people. Through responsibility, adventure, risk and daring - these men learned what it was to be trustworthy and loyal and what it meant to "Maintain the Right". The Queen's Cowboys are honored to portray these brave men and give new life to the ideals that the North West Mounted Police held so dear. It is every intention of the Queen's Cowboys to portray these men as historically correct as it is financially and safely possible. The idea is to educate the public on an important part of their heritage "live".

Message from the Queen's Cowboys Manager - Rick Stanick

Since I have formed the first N.W.M.P. re-enactment group in Manitoba, back in 1990, two other similar groups have sprung from this idea, and the Mounties of the North West Mounted Police have been receiving much of the recognition they so rightly deserve.

In the past eight years I have met many interesting, diverse and patriotic individuals who are keenly interested in the roots and structure of the N.W.M.P.. I hope that through our fashion shows, artillery drills, and our live presentations and camps, that we have touched the hearts and sparked the curiosity in the public's mind about the hardships and adventures of what we believe to be the greatest peace keeping force in the World.

We greatly appreciate and salute those of you who have helped by donating articles or information that has helped breathe life into this project. You will always be remembered.
