The Queen's Cowboys train using an authentic 1888 field manual. They perform such feats on horse back as stabbing a small 3" ring from a dead gallop, and "tent pegging" which is a test of the riders skill in taking down the enemies tents from their horses back while the enemy lay asleep in their bed rolls. They camp using pup tents which they carry behind their saddles and for long stays on the prairie they have white canvas bell tents or the large white wall tents. They perform marching drills and artillery drills along with mounted maneuvers. The most exciting is the artillery drill utilizing their nine pound cannon, the 577 snider Enfields and of course their sabers.
